We do a lot of wisdom tooth (third molar) surgery — and honestly, we enjoy it. Not because anyone loves surgery, but because we get to help people move from pain, anxiety, and confusion to relief, clarity, and fast healing.
What Are Wisdom Teeth?
Wisdom teeth are the last set of molars to develop, usually between the ages of 17 and 25. Most people have four — two upper, two lower — but not everyone gets all of them.
What Does “Impacted” Mean?
An impacted wisdom tooth is one that does not have enough space to fully erupt into the mouth. Instead, it may stay trapped in the jawbone, partially break through the gum, grow at an angle, or press against the neighbouring tooth.
About 1 in 3 adults in Kenya has at least one impacted wisdom tooth.
Common Symptoms:
Pain at the back of the jaw, swollen gums, bad breath, difficulty opening the mouth, repeated infections.
Do All Wisdom Teeth Need Removal?
No. Removal is recommended only when problems or future risks exist.
The Extraction Process:
Assessment with X-rays, comfortable anaesthesia, gentle surgical removal, and careful closure.
Recovery:
Most patients recover fully within one week. Swelling peaks at 48 hours and reduces quickly.
Our Care:
Personalised pain control, clear aftercare instructions, and follow-up support.
Wisdom tooth extraction can be smooth, safe, and manageable with the right care.
