BRACES IN ADULTS: SHOULD I HAVE MY TEETH STRAIGHTENED?
We are approaching 2022. Dentistry has changed so much that braces for adults are now being managed in much shorter time spans and with better outcomes than ever before.
Many people walk around with a smile that they feel is less than what they want it to be. Teeth that are crooked, gummy smiles, teeth too far forwards, or becoming shorter, or moving forward with time… all these are Complaints we hear from patients.
In addition, teeth which are out of line are subject to chipping and breakage because they get in the way of your chewing pattern. They discolor more as well.
We are carrying out braces for adults in two forms: removable and fixed braces, with Clear Aligners increasingly taking center stage.
The options for treatment are vast, and time spans for completion simpler cases have been reduced to a matter of a dozen weeks.
If you are an adult with teeth that are out of line, this season is the best time to get them aligned.
One thing you have to keep in mind:
After treatment, you will have to have a fixed retainer, a little barely visible wire bonded to the back of your teeth, for life.
